There are no doubts that everyone has his or her own hero. We may call this affection love when it lasts a long time. There are no other words but love can exactly express my feeling towards Kobe.
He has once kept challenging Jordan at All-star Game just for performing a slam-dunk above the giant. He has once grasped the ring of champion three times with O’Neal, setting up an empire of Lakers. Since he and O’Neal always carry out brilliant performances together, people began to call them Team OK. He has once lost himself in Colorado where he made a terrible huge mistake. I remember clearly when I see the headline of New York Times “the Fall of Kobe”, my heart dropped down. We may never know the fact, but his silence and the only words “No, Sir” made me believe that he just fell into a trap. He chose to answer all the criticisms outside by his performance on court from the ever start. This season, under the remarkable achievement of 35.3 points per match on average, he led Lakers into the Play-offs almost by his own.
Do you still remember that crazy “81 points” night? Do you still remember the night when God blessed STAPLES Center? The game has almost come to an end when I turn on TV, I just noticed that every audience was standing there, applauding, and screaming of MVP. I knew something unusual had happened. Because that is a Hong Kong TV channel, so I generally cannot understand what the commentator said. However, when Bryant shot a basket, I caught the excited screech; “Kobe, 81 points!” I can’t believe it! He has got 81 points! I just sit there still and wordlessly. His actions like King Kong give me a deep impression.
I know I cannot love anyone else when I saw him get off the court with a blank expression.
It is generally accepted that Bryant is the one who are most like Jordan. Unfortunately, Jordan is just a vague impression to me, so to my point of view, Jordan is the one who are most like Bryant. Maybe someone criticizes that Kobe takes up too many shootings, but do not forget the words said by Jordan when he missed the last shot sometime: shooting is like gambling, either get it or miss it. So, I would rather believe in myself. After all, Kobe has more opportunities compared with his teammates to win this cruel gamble.
I really hope that Lakers can enter the finals, even though it seems just a wild dream now. But impossible is nothing, just because Kobe is there. I wish I could sit under the backboard in the STAPLES Center, watching him and screaming MVP for him. Kobe should be this year’s MVP as I hoped. Though it is reasonable, but I still afraid those journalists will choose some tacky players such as Billups in order to show their so called expertise.
I once asked myself: what on earth do I like Kobe? Are his perfect skills, elegant feels, or handsome appearance? These answers are just kept been denied when I watch live telecasts. But it is mysterious that every time I see his features, especially the expressions in his eyes, I feel strength inside. Unlike T-Mac, whose eyes are blurred, in Kobe’s eyes, we can find persistence, courage and a brave heart.
